Yesterday's Book Signing: my 7-year old went up to strangers saying: "hi, my dad wrote a vampire book. Want to check it out?" Women esp'ly found him hard to resist. The kid was an unstoppable juggernaut of cute.
If it wasn't for my unabashed willingness to prostitute my son's natural charm, I wouldn't have sold a single copy. But it was all in the name of helping the Haitian refugees. Right?
When I got home, Jordan Rich of WBZ sent me the link to the interview that aired over the weekend -- and maybe that was a terrbile thing to happen!
Here's the note he sent me:
Howdy Andrew,
Great interview...it aired this past weekend as promised. Here is a link to the interview that appears on both my site (www.jordanrich.com) and www.wbz.com. Wonderful speaking with you again...be well and remember to always carry garlic and a stake with you...I do!
Peace,
Jordan
So I posted it to the Amazon thread I'm active on -- "*~*A List of Our Favorite PNR Authors - with promotion for new titles*~*" in the paranormal romance community -- because I talk all about a bunch of my fellow writers of Paranormal Romance. And wouldn't you know it? I screwed up the information on Melanie Nowak's vampire series: Almost Human (www.melanienowak.com). I said it was good for teens and fans of Twilight.
Melanie was PISSED. It's an adult novel and teens wouldn't appreciate it, I was told.
I apologized profusely: that's what I get for talking about a book I own but didn't get to yet.
Felt like a complete idiot -- all while trying to do something good for my fellow Paranormals. What's that saying about "good intentions" and going some place?
